The Winter Drumline participated in their first competition at Coronado High School on March 5th.  They competed in the Scholastic B category and received first place.  The students have been working hard and rehearsing their show since December of last year.  Green Valley High School has not had a winter drumline in competition for some time.  On their first outing, they scored one point less than the lowest score in the Scholastic A category which featured groups that have been in regular competition and have completed shows. Evolution of the group's show, "Eruption at Bald Mountain", continues with another competition planned in April. There is a link to a video of this performance on the VIDEOS page.

Green Valley Winter Guard Proclaimed Regional A Champions! On Thursday, April 22nd the GVHS Indoor Color Guard competed in the 2010 SNWGA Finals at Cimarron-Memorial High School.  They were awarded first place out of eight competitors in their category, hence earning the title of Southern Nevada Winter Guard Association Regional A Champions!   Their show theme was “Finally”, based on Fergie's song of the same name.  Also in competition at this event was the Winter Drumline. Competing in the Scholastic B category, they placed a very respectable third. The ensemble had first place finishes in the two competitions leading up to the finals. Green Valley HS has not had competitive Winter Color Guard or Drumline units for several years. These groups have made a proud showing in their return to competition this year.
