Over the last two decades, the Band Directors, Diane Koutsulis and Cecil Myers, have built a musical program
of excellence that has achieved local, regional and national recognition on both the concert stage and marching field over
the last two decades. The music program is comprised of six different bands, allowing over 130 students to excel and
perform in one or more musical entities. In addition to musical excellence, this program also engenders discipline, responsibility
and leadership in the students involved.
Awards and Achievements - Sole recipient of the prestigious National Grammy Award in 2001 and Grammy Signature School. - Invited to perform at the Midwest Clinic in Chicago, a national conference featuring eight of the best high school bands in the world each year. Consistently acheives top ranking in local and regional marching competitions. - Represented the State of Nevada in two Presidential Inaugural Parades. - Performed in major cities throughout the world including London, Paris, Rome,Edinburgh and Shanghai. - Marched in the 2010 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade |
